Special Note on 4th Sunday of Advent and Christmas Eve This year, the 4th Sunday of Advent is also Christmas Eve day. As Catholics we have an obligation to attend Mass for the 4th Sunday of Advent as well as Christmas. We will have our normal 7 Masses for the weekend of the 4th Sunday of Advent and then on that same day in the late afternoon will begin the 9 Masses we have scheduled for Christmas. We as Priests will be celebrating 16 Masses in a 36 hour window, and yes, you are supposed to attend 2 Masses!
